Ever feel like you just can’t…….

For the past week I have been trying to get back into the swing of things after being at my mom’s for a week and then having my dad visiting for a few days. It has seemed like I’m just exhausted and have no motivation to get things done. It doesn’t help that I have some deadlines looming and have a laundry list of things that need to get done in the next few weeks either.

As I sit writing this now I am kind of wondering if this may be connected to any limiting beliefs I may have surrounding what these next few weeks and what I’m working on are going to bring to my life. You know like that “self-sabotage” we often hear our mentors talk about. We make progress towards a long sought after goal (like having a natural birth) and then we start dragging our feet to take the next step or do the next task.

Then we realize that the negative thoughts are swirling through our minds constantly and we start to doubt ourselves again. We allow the people around us to have more say in our thoughts than we do our hearts and even our God. I mean most of us found ourselves on our current path because God planted a seed and that seed sprouted, right?

When I started sharing about my first birth experience and what I learned afterwards I didn’t care who I talked to and I had no aim other than to bring awareness where I could. Now I’m on a completely new trajectory because I have stepped that up to actually serve people who have had the same experience and are looking to have a different experience next time. I’m doing things I never even imagined doing and I’m doing it from my heart, so why would I self-sabotage now?

Growth is scary and sometimes our little fears start to whisper in our ears until they are heard and penetrate the noise around us. Those little whispers, once noticed, become louder, unless we choose to stand firm in our belief that we can do what we are working towards.

No matter what you are working on or where you are on that journey, know that you are exactly where you are meant to be and that when the fear creeps in you can shut it down with your next thought. Capture your thoughts and stay focused on the dream you have in front of you. Keep your eyes on the prize and it is easier to work through the rough times.

Tonight I had no idea why but I was procrastinating “getting to work” and then I sent a message and called out the elephant in my head, I was on the path to self-sabotaging and just saying “oh well, I guess I just won’t post a blog this week.” And now look what I did with that feeling!
