Keep reading for tips on how to get your partner to see that homebirth is the right choice for you. I remember when I wanted my first homebirth and the long conversations trying to convince my husband that this was the way to go. He still wasn’t on board, and it wasn’t about concern for me, which may be the block you are dealing with.

How Can I Manage Labor Pains In An Unmedicated Birth?

Amanda Ignot Birth Support, Faith & Reflection, Mindset & Emotions
Man if this isn’t a topic that comes across my feed daily! If you are pregnant, FTM or planning your next, I’m sure it has crossed your mind too. From my experience most women believe that having a baby has to be painful. It’s understandable, given our sources, that pain is pretty much the biggest part of having a baby that women worry about. I have been there too, trust me, with my first homebirth I had back labor and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Why Does Labor Keep Starting and Stopping?

Amanda Ignot Birth Support, Mindset & Emotions, Pregnancy
If you have ever experienced prodromal labor you probably understand exactly where this question came from. When you are nearing the end of your pregnancy and things start to happen, you get excited and think okay I’m having a baby today. And then it stops, you go all day or night with no signs of what you thought was the beginning stages of labor. Then it’s back and you are again excited and ready for things to progress only to have it stop AGAIN! You might be thinking, "What is the meaning of this, it’s torture and I just want to have my baby?!?"

Should I Circumcise My Son?

Amanda Ignot Birth Support, Motherhood, Pregnancy
So many think this is a controversial topic and if you bring it up in the wrong place you better be prepared for the onslaught of verbal attacks. It is unfortunate that, as a society, we are not able to hear someone’s question with compassion and answer with empathy. Most of us have been in that place of having to make a decision that we knew little about at some point and we should understand what they are working through. For me it was when I was pregnant with my first..........

Can I Have An Unmedicated Birth?

Amanda Ignot Birth Support, Mindset & Emotions, Pregnancy
Many women question their ability to birth their babies without the assistance of some form of medication to help them “handle” what they perceive will be painful. But why do we look outside of ourselves when asking this question? I see so many women sharing how they told their doctor that they want an unmedicated birth only to have their doctor tell them “Oh honey, you don’t want to do that!”  Who are they to decide that for ANYONE?

Is Your Doctor Talking Induction The Week Before A Holiday?

Amanda Ignot Birth Support, Mindset & Emotions, Pregnancy
As the Holiday season is upon us it is a great time to remind everyone that your doctor’s turkey dinner or Christmas plans do not warrant an early induction. If you are pregnant right now you may have already been approached about scheduling an induction for earlier this week or the week prior to Christmas if your due date is around that time. It is unfortunate that this happens and the truth is it shouldn’t be happening. You shouldn’t be led to feel like you need to induce to have the doctor attend our birth, I mean isn’t that what you are paying them for? We see it all the time where a doctor has this conversation with their patient:..

Is chiropractic care good for pregnancy?

Amanda Ignot Birth Support, Pregnancy
Have you ever noticed the exaggerated sway of a pregnant woman’s back and think “that is so cute but it looks so uncomfortable?” The entire process of becoming and being pregnant is fascinating and there are so many changes that we are not really aware of. As your pregnancy progresses and your belly grows your posture changes to compensate for the added weight in the front. Meet Amanda...

Hey, I'm Amanda!

I'm a wife, homeschooling mom of four, longtime women's advocate, and a woman learning in real time what it looks like to put myself back on my own priority list.

My journey into advocacy began through infertility, pregnancy, and childbirth, where I learned just how important it is for women to ask questions, understand their options, and know that their voice matters.

Today, that advocacy has expanded into the conversations I'm living myself—motherhood, health and wellness, faith, self-advocacy, and finding our way back to ourselves after years of taking care of everyone else.

I don't have it all figured out, and I don't pretend to. I'm here to share what I'm learning, ask better questions, find answers, and remind other women that we don't have to walk any of it alone.

If you're figuring some of this out too, pull up a chair. There's room for you here.
