The Realization…..

The Realization…..

Holding my newborn baby and staring at her for hours on end was my favorite thing to do in those first days. (I can tell you it is the same with every new baby I have brought into our family too!)

In those first days of having her home and figuring out what our new life looked like, we had plenty of time to just sit and think. It was so hard for me to believe that I finally had my tiny little baby and that I was finally a mom. My husband was in love with her from the moment she was born and was so helpful and nurturing.

One day as I was standing there looking down at her beautiful sleeping face in my arms I had a shocking realization that rocked me to my core.

I was responsible for taking care of this tiny life and I had no idea how to do that or what that even looked like beyond feeding, bathing, changing diapers, and keeping her warm. We talked about this and I realized that I had a lot to learn if I was going to protect her based on what we knew and believed over just going with whatever we were told to do.

During our first weeks at home I read the book that my sister gave me by Dr. Tim O’Shea, “Vaccination is not Immunization”. Now the title alone had me confused because don’t they call vaccines immunizations? As I read this book I couldn’t believe what I was learning about our medical system.

I know this is a controversial topic and I don’t expect everyone to agree with me but I want to be transparent in my sharing so I’m going to go down this trail.

I was angry to learn how the early testings were done, information that isn’t shared the way it is supposed to be for ture informed consent, and the fact the the flu shot alone increases a womans chance of late term miscarriage by over 4000%.

While I was pregnant I got the Flu and Dtap/Tdap vaccines and made my husband get them as well. My husband had a reaction to getting the vaccines and developed eczema that we are still dealing with today more than 7 years later.

As you know (if you have been following my blog) I had to get fertility help in order to get pregnant and I honestly don’t know what it would have done to me to lose her after being pregnant for 6-7 months! How is it that a fertility specialist is telling her patients to get shots that have never been tested on pregnant women or what affect they have on the growing fetus?!?!

Since this first awakening moment there have been many things that we have learned and continue to learn. I think the biggest thing we have learned is that doctors aren’t trained on what is in vaccines or what reactions they may cause, in reality they get less than 8-12 hours of training on them and they are mainly told to administer and that they are safe and effective. Once they are practicing medicine what they know is what the pharmaceutical representative tells them, which let’s face it, they have lots of money to make.

If this is the first time you are learning any of this and you are shocked, like I was, start looking into it on your own.

I firmly believe that we all have the right to believe and decide for our own families and I respect and honor the decisions you make for you and your families. That being said, we made our decisions and have been supported by our children's doctor, although we rarely have the need to see one.

Oh by the way if you are on your journey through infertility, pregnancy and/or childbirth come join my community here on Facebook where I share what I have learned, resources, and support you on your journey. Whether it's your first or your 5th we would love to have you!
