Infertility Awareness Week - Sharing Hope
You are not alone on your journey and I myself was unable to conceive for over twelve years, where I wasn’t on contraceptives or doing anything to prevent pregnancy. During those twelve years, I was in a few different relationships that were anywhere from a year and a half up to six years. The problem had to be with me right? I felt like I was never going to be the mom I had dreamed of being and that I was destined to spend my life alone. Was I broken? What had I done wrong? Was I to blame? I had a lot of thoughts and feelings that I needed to work through as I’m sure you have experienced yourself if you have had your own struggles with infertility.

3 of my favorite resources to share….
Last week I shared how important it is to always keep learning and how that realization came to me as a brand new parent caring for our tiny little girl. With information at our fingertips there is no reason we can’t seek out the information we need to make knowledgeable decisions for ourselves and our families. We are all capable of learning, right? On that same token it can be completely overwhelming to go to Dr. Google and start looking for information if we aren’t sure where we are heading. I want to help you with that. Here are 3 resources that I have used and believe are a great place to start......

Learning as you go…..
How often do we jump into things before we know much about it? New jobs, married life, parenting, the list can go on to include your finances and even your legacy and how you build it. How To Go After Big Dreams
Ever since I can remember I have loved the idea of supporting moms through labor and welcoming their child earthside. Childbirth is such an amazing journey to witness and be a part of. There is strength, perseverance, sheer willpower, and primal beauty in every aspect of it.In 2019 I met a couple, we talked for hours and hours about pregnancy and childbirth.......They said, "Amanda, you need to start a YouTube channel to share what you have been sharing with us." I was in love with the idea and couldn’t wait to make it happen. I started to work on it a little but I’ll be honest, it wasn’t going anywhere, there were too many things that I just didn’t know and had no idea how or where to get started in......

Is forty too old for having babies?
If you have not had children prior to thirty-five, or even if you have, you may find it shocking to be labeled as “Advanced Maternal Age” and being treated as high risk, based on your age alone. If you are healthy and even if you aren’t in the best of health and choose to take care of yourself through your pregnancy, you can have a pregnancy with no medical issues or complications. You are not TOO OLD to get pregnant and have babies if you are thirty-five+ years old or older. If you are trying to conceive and feeling negativity from your care provider you are not alone. Women are having babies later in life at a much higher rate now and if you connect with women who had a strong belief in their bodies, you will find that they didn’t have a rough pregnancy or had anything high risk about their pregnancy, like me.

3 things that can impact your fertility for the better
As I have been sharing my journey, I have realized that there may be another reason as to why I was able to conceive after having such a struggle before. It took 4 years and 4 IUIs to conceive our daughter and when she was fifteen months old we started trying again and conceived in just two months! Having our daughter made us realize there were so many things we didn’t know when it came to caring for our tiny human. We also realized that it was our responsibility to learn and know what options and make decisions that were right for us.So we started asking questions.

Taking Charge Through Pregnancy
Taking Charge Through Pregnancy - Being pregnant again was such a blessing and looking back it still amazes me that it was soooo easy. After trying for so long for our first and having to get fertility help, getting pregnant right away when trying again and then losing that baby…….So there I was realizing that I didn’t want to take my chances with this medical group and have someone I didn’t trust involved in my care in any way.....This time around I didn’t let the doctor dictate to me how or what I would be doing......
