Pregnancy & Childbirth
Supernatural Childbirth
Experiencing the Promises of God Concerning Conception and Birth
By: Jackie Mize

This book inspired me to believe that birth didn't have to be painful and could be enjoyed. I am so grateful to have read and learned this lesson while I was still having children, I had my last two with no pushing on my own and would say that they were pain-free!

Pregnancy and childbirth are often depicted as a time of sickness and mood swings for women followed by 12 to 20 hours of pain and hard labor. Many women have been told they can never conceive. Others have suffered the pain of conceiving and miscarrying. Have you had enough of this picture? Supernatural Childbirth is a practical and realistic look at God's promises for conception, pregnancy and delivery. This is not "pie-in-the-sky" - this is a personal testimony of how one couple overcame defeat and triumphed in God's plan! Jackie Mize had been told she could never have children. However, by unlocking powerful truths and dynamic faith principles she and her husband, Terry, found in the Bible, they now have four miracle children! This exciting book shares with you these truths and faith principles.

Childbirth Without Fear: The Principles and Practice of Natural Childbirth

By: Grantly Dick-Read

As I have been reading this book I have come to realize that our system had been broken for much longer than I thought. With this book covering how interventions were being used back in the 1930s and the effects it was having on how women give birth it is obvious that the problem was seen long before I discovered the truth.

In an age where birth has often been overtaken by obstetrics, Dr Dick-Read's philosophy is still as fresh and relevant as it was when he originally wrote this book. He unpicks every possible root cause of western woman's fear and anxiety in pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding and does so with overwhelming heart and empathy. Essential reading for all parents-to-be, childbirth educators, midwives and obstetricians!

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
By: Ina May Gaskin

I have loved reading so many birth stories from her experiences and learning a little tidbit in each one that makes so much sense to me now but would have never crossed my mind before.

Drawing upon her 40-plus years of experience, Ina May Gaskin, the nation's leading midwife, shows the benefits and joys of physiological childbirth by showing women how to trust the ancient wisdom of their bodies for a healthy and fulfilling birthing experience.

Based upon the midwifery model of care that recognizes that spontaneous labor in healthy women cannot be improved upon, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth gives expectant mothers comprehensive information on everything from the all-important mind-body connection to how to give birth without technological intervention-as well as how to know when such intervention is necessary.

  • Reducing the pain of labor without drugs and the amazing role that touch and free movement play.
  • What really happens during labor.
  • Orgasmic birth-testimonies from those who experienced it.
  • And much more...

Vaccination Information

Vaccination Is Not Immunization:
The war on Children
By: Dr. Tim O'Shea

This is the book that started my journey into learning so much more. What started out as a request to do our own research before making any decision to vaccinate led me to so many other areas of knowledge and I'm forever grateful for the push to gain knowledge to make educated decisions that were right for us.

This vaccination book is meticulously documented with over 300 references and does not represent special interests. It's all there: the ingredients in vaccines, the dangers of vaccines, vaccine side effects, autism and vaccines, HPV vaccine, vaccine cover-ups, and more.

The book is written in easy-to-understand language as well, not the med-speak found in medical journals. It covers the important vaccine events of the past year, which have been kept out of most media.

It is not an anti-vaccine textbook. It is in favor of any vaccines that have proven to be 100% safe, effective, and necessary when tested by independent, third-party research that is wholly unconnected with vaccine manufacturers.

Since so many doctors don't vaccinate their own kids, perhaps it isn't a good idea to get all your information about vaccines from advertising or from the people selling them. See what the scientists who make the vaccines have to say. Only then will you have what you need to make an informed decision about how to best care for your child. That responsibility is yours. Not your doctor's. Not the FDA's. And definitely not any lawmaker's.

Whether or not to vaccinate your child is arguably the most important decision you will ever make for them. So if you're having the slightest doubts about the safety of the vaccines you're about to give your child, get the facts, from the most reliable vaccine book available today.

Creative Correction
Extraordinary Ideas for Everyday Discipline
By Lisa Whelchel

I was just recommended this book by a close and dear friend that I admire for her parenting ways and have asked advice from on many occasions over the past 8 years. When she shared this book with me I ordered it right away and I'm so happy I did. The title says it all and the humor used to share these creative ways of correcting and leading your children to be the people you envision them to be is so down to earth and uplifting. No judgment or a one-size fits all theme here just ideas and practical, fun ways to teach your children life lessons that will shape them.

Drawing from her own family's experiences and from interaction with other parents, Lisa Whelchel offers creative solutions for parents who are out of ideas and desperate for new, proven approaches to discipline. In addition to advice on topics such as sibling conflict and lying, Whelchel offers a biblical perspective and down-to-earth encouragement to parents who are feeling overwhelmed. A handy reference guide that provides ideas for specific situations rounds out this resource that will be a blessing to parents and their children.

Documentaries

The Business of Being Born
On Prime Video
This documentary was eye-opening for me even being aware of the issues we are faced with in our over involved medical care through pregnancy. I recommend anyone having children in today's culture to watch this video.

The Business of Being Born explores the history of obstetrics, the history and function of midwives, and how many common medical practices may be doing new mothers more harm than good.

Homebirth After Cesarean
By: Rachel Garrett

Due to the rate of unnecessary c-sections, the lack of support and limited options for VBAC moms in the hospital, more and more women are choosing to have their VBAC babies at home. This podcast was created for women to share and listen to stories of Home Birth After Cesarean.

I had the honor of sharing my stories on this podcast and am blessed to be able to share this resource with you. Birth is an amazing experience when we are left to experience it without stress and interventions. If you need some inspiration to fight for your birth experience this is a great place to get it.
